Director of Mentorship Connections
Job Summary
MentorVet is growing rapidly! We are looking for an energetic, organized, flexible, and team-focused individual, to lead and support our growing mentor community. This role will assist in taking a volunteer through the whole journey of becoming a mentor with MentorVet. From reviewing volunteer applications, leading orientation and training, to helping them stay connected within the community with ongoing training and opportunities, and tending to our virtual mentorship platform. We need someone with a deep interest in wellbeing in the vet med world and someone excited about growing our community here at MentorVet.
Responsibilities
Organize and manage workflow of mentors and mentees joining our paired mentor program from start to finish
Teach in a virtual setting, particularly on topics of emotional support, suicide prevention, and how to be a supportive mentor
Meet one-on-one with mentors or mentees virtually as needed to provide support and get them connected with our community resources
Manage our online mentoring platform and mentoring connections
Troubleshoot and answer any questions our mentors or mentees have about scheduling and our online platform
Organize virtual community events including networking sessions, training, and development in collaboration with our Director of Learning and Development
Organize in-person community events at major veterinary conferences (occasional travel may be required)
Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to recruit mentors, announce events on social platforms
Who We Are Looking For
Someone who is tech-savvy, self-motivated, adaptable, organized, and obsessed with a good system and creating smart workflows
Strong desire to support vet med professionals
Training in wellbeing, emotional support, suicide prevention, veterinary support, burnout, and stress or willingness to learn these skills or seek advanced training
Experience in teaching, development, and mentorship
A love for learning & self-development
Not required but strongly preferred would be someone with a background in veterinary medicine and/or a mental health professional - bonus if you have both of these qualifications!
Benefits, Hours, and Pay
20 hours a week, with the possibility of more hours as MentorVet grows
$20-35/hour depending on qualifications and experience
3 weeks of paid time off (60 hours per year)
1 and 1/2 weeks paid time off for federal holidays (32 hours per year)

Though this job is completely remote and flexible work schedule, you will need some availability for typical “work day” hours for meeting with our team, scheduling community events, and meeting with mentors or mentees. Roughly half your weekly hours would be spent in meetings/training with our team or community. Some Sundays and evenings may also be required.
